RECIPE FOR A TENDER, JUICY AND AROMATIC FRIED CHICKEN

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole chicken, cut into 8-10 pieces
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the chicken in buttermilk for at least 2 hours or overnight. Buttermilk helps to tenderize the meat and adds flavor.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Take the chicken pieces out of the buttermilk and let the excess buttermilk drip off. Dip each piece of chicken into the flour mixture, making sure it’s fully coated.
  5. Carefully place the chicken pieces in the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the fryer. Fry the chicken in batches if necessary.
  6. Fry the chicken for about 12-15 minutes, or until it’s golden brown and crispy on the outside and cooked through on the inside. Use a meat thermometer to ensure that the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the oil and place it on a wire rack to drain any excess oil.
  8. Serve the fried chicken hot with your favorite dipping sauce and side dishes.
