Recipe for making a homemade version of a famous chocolate bar.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter (?)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (?)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups salted peanuts
- 14 oz. milk chocolate, chopped
- 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter (?)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (?)
Instructions:
- Line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, light corn syrup, and water. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture comes to a boil.
- Continue cooking the mixture, without stirring, until it reaches 320°F on a candy thermometer.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the peanut butter and butter until fully combined.
- Add the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt to the mixture, stirring until smooth.
- Stir in the salted peanuts, making sure they are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Let it cool at room temperature for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
- Once the mixture has cooled and hardened, remove it from the pan and cut it into bars or squares.
- Melt the milk chocolate in a double boiler or microwave until smooth and fully melted.
- Dip the bars or squares into the melted chocolate, making sure they are fully coated. Place the chocolate-coated bars on a sheet of parchment paper to set.
- Once the chocolate has fully set, the bars are ready to enjoy!
Note: This recipe yields about 12-16 bars, depending on how thick you cut them. You can store the homemade chocolate bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
